Buy & Sell Magic The Gathering Cards

Selling Singles

Game Theory specializes in buying and selling individual Magic the Gathering cards and collections. We have an inventory of nearly 100,000 individual Magic the Gathering cards ranging from Legacy to Standard and everything in-between. Our cards are graded using the guidelines below and we update prices regularly to stay on top of pricing trends. Orders can be placed online or in the store, via our online store here and can be picked up locally in store.

Buying Singles

We purchase individual cards and entire collections from customers both in the store and through our web site. If you have individual cards you'd like to sell please use the Buylist feature on our online catalog to check prices and create a buy order. From there, we will review the condition of your cards and then issue payment. The buylist prices in our catalog are cash prices, or we offer a 10% bonus if you select store credit. For individual card orders, we only purchase cards in Near Mint condition unless the cards are high-value Legacy or Modern staples.

Grading Guidelines

Grading is a subjective process but we do our best to rate each card in our inventory using the guidelines below. If you’d like to preview a particular card before you place your order please contact the staff to see the card in person or have a picture sent by email. With that said, here are our guidelines:

  • Near Mint (NM) - Cards in Near Mint condition are clean and show no nicks or dings to the front or back border. They show minimal to no wear from shuffling or general play.

  • Lightly Played (LP) – Cards in Lightly Played condition show minor wear. Examples of cards in this grade include cards with minor border wear, minor corner wear, very minor binder bending, slight scratching, clouding, or scuffing/loss of sheen on the front due to play wear.

  • Moderately Played (MP) - Cards in Moderately Played condition show moderate wear, but are still legal for tournament play if sleeved. Examples of cards in this grade include cards with moderate binder creasing, moderate corner wear, moderate border wear, whitening on the back or front face of the card, slight inking along the back borders, moderate scratching or clouding, minor water damage, or slight (hairline) shuffle creasing.

  • Heavily Played (HP) - Cards in Heavily Played condition show extreme wear, and may not be legal for tournament play, even in a sleeve. We typically do not carry or sell Heavily Played cards except in cases where cards were purchased as part of a collection. We encourage customers to physically inspect these cards before placing an order.

Note: We only purchase Magic the Gathering cards at this time and are unable to make offers on cards from other games.
